Souper Salad Names General Manager of the Year

Houston, TX, April 19, 2010 – Souper Salad, Inc. has recognized Yvette Martinez as General Manager of the Year and promoted her to District Manager responsible for 11 Souper Salad stores in the Houston area.
Martinez began her career at Souper Salad as a cashier in 1999 at age 18. She had intended to work part-time, complete her degree at the University of Houston and then pursue law. Instead, she was rapidly promoted to shift supervisor, assistant supervisor and then General Manager of the Pasadena store. By age 21, Martinez had purchased her own home and since then has neared completion of her college degree.
According to Martinez, “You can’t become a good manager without a great crew. Souper Salad has given me the people, the training and the tools to succeed.” As District Manager, Martinez believes being a good role model is a serious responsibility. “You need to show your crew that there isn’t anything you wouldn’t also do yourself. Be humble, work hard and help the people around you to succeed if you want to lead.”
